1980: "Vasas Budapest", winner of the European Champions Cup

The team of "Vasas Budapest" that won the 1979-1980 European Water Polo Cup for National Champions. The final phase was held in West Berlin. Ranking: 1. Vasas Budapest (HUN), 2. Partizan Belgrade (YUG), 3. Spandau 04 Berlin (GER) and Montjuic Barcelona (ESP).
The team of Vasas: Horvath, Banyai, Krieger, Budavari, Farago, Csapo, Kenez, David, Foldi, Gajdossy, Darida, Kijatz, Olveczky and Tory.
Coach of the team was the Olympian Peter Russoran.
