Nanni Moretti, well known Italian film director, devoted himself to his two passions:
Cinema and Water-polo. In 1970 he played in first division in Italy and the Italian Junior National team. Once finished high school studies, he sold his stamps collection to buy a super8 cinema camera and started shooting home-made short films in 1973. In 1976 he directed, his first full-length film, destined to make him known as a new talent of Italian cinema. Among his several important films is
“La Palombella Rossa” a political film of 1989, with a Water Polo background.
