Valentin Prokopov born on 1929, was one of the best Soviet players of the 50’s. He was player of the “CSK Moscow” and member of the USSR team, that participated into the Helsinki 1952 and Melbourne 1956 Olympic Games.
During the match of Hungary vs USSR 4-0 in Melbourne he was the player who punched the eye of the Hungarian Ervin Zador initiating the famous riot between the two teams in Melbourne 1956.
