Waneek Horn-Miller, a Mohawk from Kahnawake, Québec, was a key member of the Canadian Women's Water Polo team that won gold at the 1999 Pan Am Games. Voted MVP, Waneek became co-captain and proudly led her team at the Sydney Olympics in 2000. Horn-Miller, grabbed national attention after posing nude for the cover of Time magazine.

On May 11th 2007, “Water Polo Legends” have started to look back into the past, with aim to reveal the great History of our Sport. Today, “600 days” later, on the occasion of “2.500 posts” we would like to thank you for your interest to share with us the passion for Water Polo.
Extract from the “Evening World – New York August 18, 1902): Girls Swimmers form Water Polo team and want to be challenged; There are many young women who are expert swimmers and up to a hard, long race, but until recently Water Polo was considered a sport entirely too strenuous for the strength and endurance of the fair sex.
